If you didn't make mistakes, you would have wings and a halo. Accept yourself for what you are, blemishes and all, and stop punishing yourself for having faults and having made mistakes. If you keep yourself positive, there will be no vacuum for the self punishing emotions to be sucked into.
The Art of Feeling Good
- We all have problems. But to focus on the difficulties and look on them only as obstacles that prevent us from being happy is to let the unhappiness control you. Focus instead on how much better things will be if the obstacles are overcome and let that motivate you to do something to cross them.

Feeling good does not mean ignoring unhappiness. Without some amount of unhappiness, how would we be able to understand the amount and value of the happiness we have in our lives?
