Woolacombe is a great all round British family resort. Situated on the beautiful North Devon coast Woolacombe and the surrounding area has something to offer people of all ages. Woolacombe its self is a lovely village situated around 3 miles of sandy beach, often regarded as the one of the best beaches in all of the country. The village has many local shops providing for most of your needs during your stay. Woolacombe can boast a number of attractions. The village has a couple of surf schools who cater to all ages and all experiences so why not try your hand at surfing and catch some waves, Woolacombe is after all famous across the country for its great surfing conditions. Just a short drive from Woolacombe is the principle town of North Devon, Barnstaple. The historic town is great for shopping with many top high street names, not to mention many great local independent shops. The town also boasts some fantastic cafés and restaurants catering for every taste from Italian to Mexican and quality British food using local grown produce. If you are all shopped out then the town has a theatre which is host to many of the best touring production in the country not to mention the cream of the British comedy talent who all make Barnstaple a stop on there nationwide tours. There is also a multi screen cinema playing all the latest and best movies. Barnstaple has its own heritage centre as well as a museum chronicling the history of the town and area; you should also pay a visit to the remains of an 11th century Norman Motte and Bailey castle. Exmoor National Park is just a short drive from Woolacombe. The park maybe one of the smallest National Parks in the country but it can certainly boast to being one of the prettiest. Emoor has such a diverse landscape its impossible not to find something that you fall in love with. From rolling heather strewn hills to thick lush woodlands, vibrant valleys, rugged cliffs, beautiful beaches and historic monuments Exmoor has it all. There is so much more to see and do in Woolacombe and North Devon you will find yourself returning year after year.
