Most physical activity can help to burn calories. There are some activities that are designed to burn more. This is where the Wii fit comes in and helps. Designed to help all ages, the Wii fit helps to get up, get active and get fit. For many years games enthusiasts have been branded couch potatoes as they do sit for hours on end engrossed in their games. That's what is so beneficial about the Wii. It actually gets people up and active. There have been many people complaining about sore and aching limbs after spending too much time engrossed in the wii's addictiveness! The Nintendo wii promotes active movement and it really does help to get the die hard games enthusiasts off the couch and up and burning calories. The Nintendo Wii has been a saving grace to many parents. No parent wants to see their children glued to their games, spending hours on end locked away alone in their rooms. Nintendo have really struck gold. Combining exercise and fun to get children up and about. So how would we use the Wii for the greatest benefit? Within the wii fit there are many types of exercises and games. There is cardio, strength building and yoga. Each of these exercises will burn calories and make help to make you feel good. It's a well known fact that cardio exercise burns more calories. When doing cardio, your heart and breathing increase filling your body with oxygen which produces the "hottest burn". Maintaining the heart and the breathing rate this high is so important when burning calories. This is all accomplished when using the wii as the games have been designed with this in mind. The step program and the hula hoop will keep your heart working hard. The levels of the games get harder but you have to earn your fitness to be able to unlock the higher levels. Experts have said that for the greatest benefit, a high heart and breathing rate should be maintained for at least 20 minutes. Some ideas for a workout could be: do a 5 minute step program followed by 10 minutes of hula hoop exercises finishing off with another five minute step program. And why not throw in some yoga to soothe those aching muscles?
