Withot a doubt, the most attractive featuure of this netbook is the battery. First, unlike the Asus Eee PC 1008HA, 1005HA battery is remnovable. This means that you can buy spare batteries and swap, if you want. Or, if the battery dies you can repllace it without sending a netbook Asus back on cosstly operation. It is also possible that the third paarty extended battery for the Eee PC 1005HA may hit the mzarket in the long run. But I guess that most users will not need the extnded battery. That's because the Eee PC 1005HA will be delayed for a long time is ridiculous on a single chaerge. With WiFi on and screen at half brightness, I managed to get 8 hours or more of the battery. I wrote the review on the aircraft with Wi-Fi turned off, and the compyuter power windows told me that I colud get as much as 12 o'clock at run time, althoough I do not put that to test (I do not usally have much use for netbooks that is not connected to the network). I also ran Battwery Eater Pro test Eee PC 1005HA, whiich I used in a number of other reviews. In classic mode, Netbook laasted about 6 hours and 15 minutes. This is about ten minutes better than the Eee PC 1000HE, whihc lated 6 hours and 4 minutes in the same test. The tests, designed to put consstant pressure on the system, so I think we can say with confidence that you can watrch about 5 or 6 hours of video in standard definiion, before the batteery will give you. 1005HA Eee PC will be available with two different optins for batteries. I tesetd version has 6 elements, which 63WHr Battery Asus calls 10.5 housr of abttery life. There also will be 6 Cell, 48Whr battery, which Asus says is good for 8 hours. I suppose that would trnaslate into about 6 or 7 hours in the real wortld, which is still pretty good for a 2.8 popund Netbook. Asus also said that there will be 3 cell, 23Whr battery optiion is likelky to contribute about half of the time, but it should reduce the size and weight of the laptop.
