Planning a family holiday in south west England can be a great experience, but there are so many things to see, that you'll want to do a little research first. You definitely don't want to miss out on a lot of things that you and your family might have really enjoyed just because you didn't take the time to find out about them or realize that they were there. You also don't want to pack your schedule so tightly that you have no time to go and see something that you found out about. With that in mind, there are some top family attractions in south west England that you really need to see. One thing you'll want to make time for is the Avon Valley Railway. It can provide a lot of nostalgia for some people as well as a new experience for others. Either way, it's more than just a ride on a train. In addition to that, you'll also want to catch the Babbacombe Model Village. The essence of England past, present and future is captured in the tiny buildings and people that make up the model. It's something to see, and something that you won't soon forget. The Beer Quarry Caves are also great to visit. They are all man-made and were worked by the Romans long ago. They supplied the stone for twenty-four different cathedrals and people have been quarrying beer stone there for centuries, so they're vast. The Bristol Zoo Gardens is another place that you'll want to take your family. There are more than four hundred different species of animals there, and the zoo also supports education, so it's not just about keeping animals for you to see. Visitors to the zoo can learn not only about the animals, but also about conservation efforts and other important issues. If you want to see something that really harkens back to historical England, you should go to Clovelly. The little village has cobblestone streets where no vehicles are allowed and is clinging to a wooded, four-hundred foot cliff. It's not to be missed.
