Snowdonia
The north of Wales is dominated by the truly beautiful Snowdonia mountain range and national park. Snowdonia is the second largest national park in Great Britain and is home the highest mountain in England and Wales Mt Snowdon. Mt Snowdon has been popular with climbers for decades and was even used as training for the very first successful attempt to climb Mt Everest. The national park not only features the spectacular mountain rages but is also home to waterfalls, moors, forests, glacial valleys and a stunning coastline.

Pembrokeshire Coast
The Pembrokeshire national park is one of the smallest in the whole of the United Kingdom but good things certainly do come in small packages. Pembrokeshire is home to one of the best coastlines in Britain. The Pembrokeshire coastline features High cliffs, sheltered coves, long open beaches, harbours, mud flats, dunes and islands. The national park has many ancient forst and castle some of which has been in existence for 2000 years.

Brecon Beacons
The Brecon Beacons are the third national park in Wales. The park blends both human and natural history, not to mention beauty. Over half of the Brecon Beacons lies 1,000ft above sea level. In the west of the park lies the area known as the Black Mountains, regarded as a wilderness it provides some of the best ridge walks anywhere in England or Wales.

St David’s
St David’s is perhaps most well known outside of Wales as the smallest city in Britain with a population of just 1,500. To the people of Wales it is the birthplace of their patron saint St David. St David babtised so many people to Christianity that he became know as Aquaticus (the Waterman). The beautiful Cathedral was built on the site of his 6th century monastery and has been a place of worship and pilgrimage ever since.

Harlech Castle
Harlech Castle set on a towering rock above Tremadog bay is a World Heritage Site. The castle is one of the best protected in the country. On three sides in is protected on clifss while a complex set of gates and portcullises make this castle ideal to defend against any attackers. In fact the castle was the last royalist strong hold to fall during the English Civil War. Its mixture of fantastic medieval architecture and stunning scenery make this a great trip on your Short Break in Wales.
