Toilet Training Your Child - It's Not Excessively Difficult

By: Greg Dutch

Many parents who has a child that is between one and two have tried to potty train their toddler. Most of then have done it at this age but however there are many children who are not ready for potty training at this age.
Potty training needs to be done when your toddler is ready. Your toddlers will show you signs of being ready when they are. Watch to see if your toddler hides to do a number two. They may try to see what you do in the bathroom. Many will tell their mom or dad what they have done in their diaper. Some ask to be changed. Your toddler is ready to be potty trained when this happens.
Parents are the ones who need to be potty trained, it is true and you have heard it before. This is true because we as the parents are the ones who have to take time out of our busy lives to encourage our children to go potty. If you do not take the time then your child could be in diapers when it is time for them to go to kindergarten. Not a bad thing if you like to change poopy diapers and spend you extra money on them.
When the signs have shown that your toddler is ready for potty training and you are ready to take the time then get it done. It will only take a few days to have your toddler potty trained for the day. Look for signs that your toddler is using his diaper for a toilet on the first day and tell your toddler that you have a potty for him to do that in. Once you know the signs enforce that your toddler uses the potty.
There is a lot of information online about potty training and remember that it is a simple part of parenting. Once you have got the staples of toilet training your baby under control then it is just a matter of practice and persistency. If you keep working at it you WILL potty train you baby in the vast majority of cases fairly easily. Obviously there will be instances where it will take more time.
Just consider it - we have worked out how to to toilet train our dogs and cats - so it has to be simpler with a little child. If you have tried to educate a cat to do anything it doesn't want to do, you should have found it is really difficult - they did not coin the term 'as difficult as herding cats' for nothing. So however difficult it is, persist and you should get your child trained in the end.
