Things To See And Do In North Yorkshire

By: Ben Binding-27115

If you're planning a trip to North Yorkshire, you probably want to know what there is to do once you get there. There are a lot of educational things that you can do that are still a lot of fun. One of these is the ghost hunt of York. This walking tour takes you by many of the allegedly haunted sites in the city. You can also go and visit the York Minster Church, or to many different rock formations around the area. There are also play areas for younger children and health spas and Turkish baths. Museums are popular, too, with people of all ages, and there are countless smaller tourist attractions that can be enjoyed as well. One of Europe's most visited streets, The Shambles, has been around since Medieval times and people flock there every year to see what that area look like and what kinds of shops it contains now.

North Yorkshire has so much history to it that people who like learning about other places and culture and where they came from should seriously enjoy that area of the UK. The cathedral towers over everything else in the city and is an important focal point for those who like both history and architecture. So much that is seen in the area comes from the Medieval time period that there are remnants of it everywhere and that means that grace and elegance abound in the structures both in and surrounding the city. There are also places for children to play and enjoy the area, but most of the sights are geared toward families and adults who come out for a history lesson and to look at the beauty of the old buildings. There are many shops to go into and a lot of the streets are still cobblestone, making the old feel both new and familiar at the same time.
