With the stunning views of the sea and incredible chalk geology in some areas, there are many areas that are just filled with neat little places to stop and explore the island’s heritage. There are some areas that you should make sure you are careful to stay away from the cliff’s edges as they tend to be unstable in spots. The Isle of Wight Coastal Path offers something for everyone whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or something more energetic, you will find historic farms, lanes shadowed with greenery, thatched villages, coastal trails and woodlands. The carefully maintained footpaths have plenty of signs to follow so you can easily find your way around without becoming lost. People walk, cycle and bird watch extensively along these paths all year round and there is a huge walking event in May.
