One rule of thumb when printing collaterals for your business, whether they’re presentation folders, catalogs, print brochures, folder printing or flyers printing, in order for you to lessen your costs, you have to order in bulk. Of course, the more you print, the less your expenses will be when printing your sales literature. It’s a simple concept actually – the more copies you print out, the cheaper each item would cost. Although at some point there may be exceptions to the rule, but basically, this concept applies to all regular print jobs. You have to realize that all the elements needed to produce the folder printing you require and the number of presentation folders you specified – all of them will add to your overall cost. The inks for one are expensive. For another, the application of color requires a good many ‘wash up’ in between the printing process. This means that every time you need to apply one color, your printing provider has to fill up the ink reservoir one by one with the first color, then the second, then the third, and so on and so forth. In between those passes, the ink reservoir has to be washed up and cleaned so the next color will not contaminate and mess up the next color. Just imagine if you have full-color printing for your order! The cost of paper is also a variable in your print expenses. You can save on costs if you’ll be able to not only buy cheap but quality paper, but also purchase it in bulk. That’s why printers have their own rolls of paper in their stock because it’s cheaper for them to buy it in rolls than get them sheet by sheet. Next that you have to consider is the overhead costs when your provider is printing your job order. This would mean the electricity, manual labor, the use of equipment, among other things. Then you still have to take into account the shipping and delivery service when your print job is finished. All of these things take a toll in your marketing budget. From all the expenses mentioned, one page of your collateral when printed would almost cost you $100 or more, while printing 1,000 sheets of stationery for example will cost you just a little over that ball figure. Not to mention that a printing press can run thousands of sheets in half an hour. And the more you add to your number of print orders, the lower your price would be for every sheet printed. Printing in bulk is much cheaper compared to having your sheets done one by one. You can see a marked difference when you finally decide to make your own business order in bulk with your printing company.
