Relaxing In London

By: Andrew Regan

London is one of the most vibrant and entertaining cities in the world. If you are planning a visit there in the near future, you can be assured that you won’t run short of things to do – however long your stay might be for. But there will be times when you want to just relax and enjoy the city without rushing to and fro between the major attractions; despite its reputation for being a city that never sleeps, it is possible to find such things to do in London.

It certainly has its fair share of parks and open spaces. One of the best examples – and the most centrally located – is St James’s Park. This is actually a lot bigger than you might think, taking in such sights as the Mall, and also Duck Island which plays host to many different breeds of birds, as well as the ducks.

If the weather is nice you will have your choice of wonderful shady spots to enjoy a lazy picnic lunch away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and crowds. And you’ll be very close to several royal residences too!

You might want to think about getting some valuable exercise while you are in the city as well. If this takes your fancy then one of the best ways to achieve this is by seeing the River Thames by walking along its banks. Furthermore, the South Bank will take you past the London Studios and the National Theatre, and there are numerous other attractions to see as well. You can also enjoy a walk along the Embankment to get a different perspective of the river.

Of course, you might want to have a relaxing time as well as enjoying all the shopping and sightseeing. If that sounds like the perfect mix, pop into one of the walk-in backrub locations in London, and pay to work out those knots you’ve accumulated; it’s a great way to destress!

If you are ready for a bite to eat then take a trip to Covent Garden. There are plenty of fantastic eateries there that will enable you to wile away an hour or two in pleasant surroundings.

It is therefore good to know that flights to London are readily available from many different countries, and when you land you will be assured of a great holiday in this terrific city. London is renowned for its diverse array of things to do and see. So, regardless of what you want to do while you are there, you won’t go home disappointed.
