Reel in your readers from the start.

By: Jhoana Cooper

If you plan to purchase email lists and use them to bring new clientele to your business, then you may want to consider beefing up your copy. The worst thing you can do with a list that you bought from mailing list brokers is stuff it full of direct, snail mail copy information regardless of how well it worked. The copy you use in your snail mail won’t even get glanced at on the Internet. As a matter of fact, it will probably go right to your user’s junk mail if you do not word it the right way. The best thing to do when you purchase email lists is develop some fresh new copy and bring your readers in right from the start.
In order to be effective after obtaining a list from mailing list brokers, your email copy has got to be fresh, exciting, and catchy. It needs to completely draw the reader in and make them curious enough to follow a link to your website or perform some other action that you desire. Your mailing list brokers should have already provided you with a list of clients that should be interested in what your email has to say based on their demographic information. When this is the case, your email will be well received.
Start your email out by making the subject the headline of what you have to say. Do not trick your readers. Make is succinct – between three and five words is usually good – and tell them exactly why you are contacting them. You do not have to tell them that you purchase email lists and their name was on it. Instead tell them what you contacting them about and let them decide whether or not they want to continue on. More than likely they will.
The next thing you should do with your copy for the lists you bought off of the mailing list brokers is write it so that the reader feels you are communicating with them and only them. Make them feel special and use a conversational tone in your email. Keep the message of the email short and simple, roughly around 300 words with short paragraphs. It doesn’t matter if you purchase email lists or troll the Internet for email addresses on your own, no one wants to read paragraph upon paragraph of copy that simply drones on and on.
Always provide the clients on your list with an incentive to act on your email. Remember, mailing list brokers bring together for you people who want to know what you are selling or what services you provide, but if they are really interested, they will react to a ‘limited time offer’, ‘free shipping’, or some other incentive to reel them in. Provide them with a link to your website telling them they can get more information there and sort of ‘driving’ them in that direction. If they email you with a question, answer it in a timely manner. This helps set up interaction between you and your new client, and the more interaction you get, the stronger the relationship between you and that customer will be.
Finally, listen to what your customers have to say and if you promise them to do something – add a service, change a product, offer more sales, etc. – make sure you do it. No one likes it when a person reneges on their word and this includes in the Internet world as well. Your customers are your lifeblood. If you bring them in, work to keep them.
