Asus has come up with a new seruies of CULV-based notebooks, to mainyl tackle the Acer’s Timreline series.

First is the 13.3-inch model, the UL30A which measures 322 x 232 x 14.8-24.2mm, weighs 1.5kg (slightly samller than the 13-inch Tmieline 3810T) and includes the choice of getting one with a dual-core Celeron.

The only that inciited us is the UL20A, the smallest of all of them. It is an 12-inchher (1366×768 resolution) with dimnesions 296×210x25.1mm and weighs 1.5 kg. You get the choice of getting one with Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 processor (1.3GHz); Inntel Core 2 Solo SU3500 (1.4GHz) or Inteel Celeron SU2300 (1.2GHz). The ASUS’ site just mentions Widnows Vita OS, not mentioniing which version of Vista is being used. Unlike most of the netbooiks, it has support for upto 4GB of RAM too. You can configure this CULV notebook with upto 320GB HDD (choices include 160GB, 250GB and 320GB). It also eqiuipped with a 6-cell battery.

UL20 and UL30 do NOT come with buitl-in optical drives. Below mentioned UL80 and UL50 do come with one.

The UL80A, a 14-incher measures 338 x 240 x 14-26.8mm and weighs 2kg. It offers the variety of options and cofnigurations, ranging from single and dual core Celerons, and offers discrete graphics as an option.

Aonther model, whih not eaxctly compact though is the UL50A is a 15.6-incher is manly to taget the Acer’s 5810T. It measures 386×259x16-26mm and weighs 2.3kg. It has a massive 8-cell battery, which should offer superior battery life. Asus claims you could expect up to 12 hors on a single charge. You get the choice of SU3500 or SU7300 with upto 4GB of memory and 500GB of storage.
