Planning you’re Yorkshire Holidays

If you’re planning your next holiday in Yorkshire, there are so many possible things you could do that it’s a good idea to sort out now what you would like to do and see so you don’t miss out.

There are many educational sites that are as enjoyable as any adventure park. One of the most fun, and most scary, is the ghost hunt in York. This walking tour takes you to some of the most haunted building in the city. The city has a rich history, from being a capital of Roman Britain, for two years the whole of the Roman Empire was governed from the city, to Vikings invasions, The War of the Roses and the Civil war there are sure to be plenty of ghosts around. Also worth a visit is the magnificent York Minster Cathedral the second largest gothic cathedral in northern Europe.

For the children there are numerous play centers and adventure parks throughout the region to keep them entertained for hours. While the children are off having the times of there lives perhaps your should treat yourself in some of the many spas that can be found in the area, even the odd Turkish bath can be found to pamper you.

Museums are all ways a popular stop on the tourist trail and Yorkshire has many fine museums covering a whole range of topics. An example of what is almost a living museum is The Shambles a medieval street that still contains many of it original buildings, some dating back to the 14th century. As a result The Shambles is one of the most visited streets in Europe. There are many other fine examples of architecture from this time period around the city making it one of the most beautiful cities in the whole of the UK. History and architecture fans will absolutely love it.

The country side is perhaps the most impressive aspect of Yorkshire. Its varied landscapes and stunning scenery will appeal to the lovers of the outdoors as well as those who don’t tend to venture outside of the cities that often. The varied terrains make Yorkshire a paradise of outdoor sports with mountain biking, surfing, caving, climbing and paragliding very popular. But there are many, many less strenuous pursuits in the countryside too. Some of the countries most magnificent stately homes are found here as well as ancient historic building and some of the most beautiful cost line you will find.
