However, you might just be looking for a chair, bench or any odd piece of furniture to add to what you already have. So decide first and only then can you make the wise investment.

Budget
When you choose teak, you need to set aside a bigger budget that if you choose acacia, cedar, or oak. Being durable and stronger than these woods, teak will likely be more expensive than them. But you are safe in the knowledge that your money will be spent on quality and the good number of years your furniture will be around.

Where to Buy
Numerous websites offers good deals and bargains on outdoor furnishings. Some Teak Furniture Manufacturers offer wholesale items. Classic Teak “specializes in fine quality teak patio furniture & garden furniture at substantial discounts from the high end retail store locations.” It is recommended to do research and make a price survey before making a decision.

Care
After you have bought the teak furniture, you should now decide whether your furniture would be keeping its well maintained look by applying teak oil or you’d just leave it be and let nature takes it course.

Coating your teak furniture with teak oil will prevent stains from damaging the look of the wood. The oil will also work to delay bleaching effect from continuous exposure to the sunlight. Before applying the oil onto the furniture, be sure that the surface is dry and use a paint brush start from the top and gradually to the bottom. A second coating can be applied an hour later or after the first coating is dry. It is important to remember that the oil should not be applied on dirt or accumulated oil as this can lead to darkening of the wood. Your finishing touch should be to buff the surface with dry cloth.

To restore the natural color of teak, very fine sandpaper is used and you have to work it in the direction of the grain. To clean the teak furniture, use soft bristled brush and mild soapy water. You should not use wire bristled brush or steel for it can damage the wood. If used, the pieces of wire can get stuck on the surface of the wood therefore causing it to discolor.

Storage of Teak
The storage of teak depends entirely on the owners choice. Teak is strong enough to withstand harsh conditions so it really doesn’t matter if you wish to keep them out in the cold or blazing sun. if you do want to keep them indoor during the winter season, you can go for furniture that are foldable which can be commonly found today. If you wish to keep them outside, you can buy covers so that you can protect the surface of the furniture.

Add beauty and dimension to your yard, garden or patio with teak outdoor furniture. Not the cheapest furniture to have but will last for a very long time. Without doubt, settling with premium teak is an investment definitely worth every penny.
