Located on the seashore of Lake Erie in northwest Ohio, Oregon is a beautiful place with a thriving community offering plenty to do and see. Beautiful landscapes, amazing museums, compelling theatre, and hunting and fishing paradise, these are just a few of the phrases to describe Oregon. Hiking, skiing, parasailing and llama-trekking are all things to do for someone who wants to experience a little of Oregon's legendary beauty and doesn't mind a little adventure along the way. There are loads of opportunities for adventure in Oregon, which can be found deep in the mountainous terrain of Oregon's spectacular Hells Canyon, and along the formidable cliffs of the Oregon Coast. Oregon is home to North America’s deepest river Gorge (Hells Canyon), the country's deepest lake (Crater Lake) and the world’s second-most-climbed mountain (Mt. Hood), which also happens to host North America’s only year-round ski season. There is never a shortage of things to do here, from world-class golf, cycling along hundreds of miles of designated bike lanes, taking road-trips to wine country, hunting for fossils or getting lost in the moment of a brilliantly crafted scene of play at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. For those interested in history, there is the original lighthouse, the first on the Oregon Coast, that was built in 1857 but lasted only six years. Then there are the charming buildings and gardens of historic Hanley Farm, located in Central Point, range in age from the 1850s to the 1950s. Even in a region of volcanic wonders, Crater Lake can only be described in superlatives. Crater Lake rests in the shattered remnants of Mount Mazama, an ancient volcano.
