New Year's celebrations in Cardiff

If you want to have some great New Year's fun, you'll want to head to Cardiff. You can take part in the traditional Mari Llwyd events where people go from house to house carrying a horse skull on a pole and reciting rhymes and singing until they get invited in for some food and a drink. It's an old Welsh tradition to welcome in the New Year and give the old one a proper send-off, and you can be part of it. However, that's not all that you can do, because there are so many other opportunities for great things to enjoy and be a part of. Cardiff's Winter Wonderland, for example, gives you a great place to skate for a very little amount of money. Kids really enjoy it, and many adults do, as well. Even big groups can be accommodated, so don't be shy about asking. You'll probably want to go see Santa, as well, and you'll have opportunities to do that. He arrives at Festival Park and you can easily take your children to have a visit with him. If you aren't that interested in Santa there's food, drink, and the art and craft exhibition to look forward to.

There's a lot for the children to enjoy with Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and other well-loved characters like Aladdin, and the Christmas Markets that are offered in Cardiff are great places to shop for gifts and do a little shopping for yourself. No matter what you're looking for in a New Year's celebration, Cardiff will have something for you and your family to enjoy. Parades, concerts, and endless numbers of lights await you the closer it gets to the New Year, but the fun doesn't end there. Once January has begun the fun doesn't stop, because there are still a lot of festivals going on and things to do and see. The River of Light Parade is one of the most popular things for people to go to, but there are also the Chinese State Circus, the Caerphilly Medieval Market along with West Side Story and Mother Goose.
