Karaoke Top Tips Things To Remember For Beginners

By: Chelsea M Butterworth

1)Your Choice of Song

Your choice of song will need to be within your natural vocal range and amount of training. Pushing your voice through your favourite Celine Dion track is not the way to go, don’t try and run before you can walk! A song that you really love will work for you because your effortless enjoyment of your song will add the glimmer. Try and discover your ‘Banquet Song,’ occasionally known as a Juhachiban in Japan, this is the song that will always delight the audience and give them something to talk about.

2)Remember to Practice

You undoubtedly have no previous experience of Karaoke then a little bedroom mirror time with the hair brush will always help build your confidence. If you get the chance to then record a bit of your singing and see if you really sound good and even a second opinion could help your preparation.

3)Warm Up Those Vocal Chords

When the day comes make sure your voice is well rested and when your turn has arrived then warm up your vocal chords by singing along to some of the songs on before you avoiding any notes you know you can’t hit.

4)Drink Plenty Of Water

Your voice should also benefit from a drink of water to keep your throat well hydrated, also if you smoke go easy on the cigarettes too, they won’t improve your vocal talents and unless you’re doing a Louie Armstrong song. The secret to improving your vocal talent is drinking lots of water this will give your voice the best chance on the day.

5)Sing Like No-one Is Watching

The most important thing is to stay relaxed and have a positive method, if you’re too nervous it will be reflected in the first big note you hit. So concentrate on breathing deeply and staying nice and relaxed, let your track begin and then let yourself go, just focus on giving the performance.
