How photography has changed over time

By: James Knight

Photography is a stunning art. Using photography, you can keep hold of the greatest scenes from your life. So you can look at them whenever you like, to relish and cherish them. Furthermore, you will be able to capture the stunning scenes of nature which are sources of freshness and beauty.
Having said that, have you ever considered how photography came to be? As A Matter Of Fact, photography has been around for many centuries - as early as the 19th century. Humans have always appreciated beautiful scenes, always wanting to catch any example of such scenes. All The Same, the technology available a few centuries ago was not as evolved as it is today, in the modern age.
In this article, a history of when photography came about, and how its popularity has grew, will be considered.
"Photography" as a phrase and concept was introduced by Sir Jon Herscel around the early 1830s, which is when the world started to learn about this brilliant idea. Photography is in reality derived from two words: 'photo' and 'graphein' which means recording images with the help of radiation or light.
So whilst "photography" does mean recording images via radiation or light, nowadays photography only uses light. The French painter and chemist Daguerre was the first to produce a photograph. Whilst photography was first introduced in 1839, there are some traces of photos that can be traced back to as early as 1827, which does suggest that photography did exist in some form earlier than 1839.
Photography became very prominent in 1847 when photographs of the Mexican-American war were printed and shown in the Americas, reaching the public. The public started to see the future of photography, and they came to know that this revolutionary technology was about to revolutionize their lives.
Moreover, the very first (albeit basic) colored photos were published in 1861. These photographs really created a buzz all over the world because it was a brand-new and unique concept for people. However it is important to note that this method involved merely tinting photographs, which obviously didn't result in the same high quality colored photographs that we have today.
Photography equipment kept on improving - and the photos created also kept on becoming more impressive and wonderful - until 1991 when the first digital camera came onto the worldwide scene.
This camera created a pulse between people and they went mad for creating colorful and unforgettable images of their friends, family and relatives. Many more companies began to delve into the production of a wider variety of such cameras, which ultimately helped in producing the remarkable photos that we have today.
Especially in fashion and electronic media, photography is used a lot. Due to all this, photographs nowadays - especially their usage in advertising - has made people's lives a lot more colorful and beautiful!
