How To Get Rid Of My Profuse Sweating?

By: Karen V. Douglas

Isn't the human body wonderful? The natural, automatic processes of our bodies keep us operating and guard us from environmental threats. Did you know that your body uses perspiration to maintain its normal temperature of 37 degrees Celsius? The human body is able to cope with heat because it has the capacity to sweat. Without this ability, we would be at risk of heatstroke.

Meanwhile, an excessive sweating problem can occur in different parts of the body due to a relatively high concentration of sweat glands in that region. In specific, excessive armpit sweating is characterized by an extreme stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system. While this may sound a bit complicated, those who are suffering from it know that it is not a pleasant condition.

It's common for people with excessive armpit sweating to change their clothes a number of times every day in order to look and feel fresh and clean. They have limited choice in the colors and fabrics they can wear because some fabrics and colors highlight sweat stains and others make them less obvious. Excessive armpit sweating is an unpleasant problem which can cause real embarrassment in social situations.

However, if you suffer from excessive armpit sweating don't despair! The first thing you have to do is to stay calm and try not to worry since stress can actually increase sweating. Next, see your doctor and find out if there are any medical reasons for the problem. It is important to rule out illness as a cause of increased sweat production. It can also be helpful to be able to express your feelings in an unthreatening environment.

Third and most important, there are various treatment approaches that you can count on to alleviate it. Although, excessive armpit sweating appears to be a medical problem, you do not have to go through an expensive surgical procedure to begin its management. There are very practical remedies that will not hassle you with some recovery time and harmful side effects such as irritation.

However, some people do choose surgery and they should be aware that the surgery can actually exacerbate their excessive sweating problem for a while afterwards. There are however, natural and easy to use remedies you can use to alleviate excessive perspiration. Wearing natural fibres can help your body to keep cool. Cotton, for example, is ideal because it breathes and helps to keep your body cool in hot temperatures. Wool, however, should not be worn unless the climate is particularly cold.

If you don't want to sweat excessively, you must keep your body at a normal temperature. To do this, it is necessary to make sure your body is hydrated by drinking adequate quantities of water on a daily basis. Eight to ten glasses of water are recommended. Avoiding worry and managing stress are also important for maintaining a normal body temperature. Anxiety and worry can actually increase the production of sweat.

As well as stress management and wearing natural fibers, many people have found acupuncture to be a safe and effective treatment for perspiration problems. Approved by the FDA in 1996, acupuncture is a natural way to alleviate excessive armpit sweating.
