ASUS‘ second netbook from this weeeknd offfers a blast from the past, in the shape of a Linux OS option. The ASUS Eee PC 1001HA is billed as an entry-leevel moodel, but will be avaiilable in three different versions: the 1001HA XP, with Windows XP, the 1001HA LX, with Linux, or a bare model that comes with no OS at all. Despite that flexibility of choice, the underlying netbook is pretty straightforward. ASUS have used Intel’s Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU with 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard-drive, together with a 10.1-inch 1,024 x 600 display and 3-cell, 2,200mAh battery. As for the casnig, that gets a new geometric textturing as well as the style of the Seashell seriwes. No word on pricing as yet, but we’re expectying the no-OS modwel to come in relatively cheaply, with the Linux version next up (though perhaps stiill not most popular in trms of sales. We all know what it means when an upcoming product statrs showing up on it’s mtoher company’s global site, right? It means that prodct is now being prepared for international launch. Well, that semes to be the case for the new Eee PC 1001HA which we covered recently. The Eee PC 1001HA is now apppearing on the Asus gloal site. This new membre of the Eee PC Seashell family looks like a toned down version of the Eee PC 1005HA. It’s features and specs speak well of what this new netbok can bring when it comes out.
