Its just a way the government has of making sure the money is spent on what it is intended for. So you may have to fund the installation yourself for a short period of time. But if you're determined, and have no hard cash, you could always loan the money and repay it back when the grant comes through. But before you start, you should do your homework thoroughly. You may be pleasantly surprised to learn just how few panels your house actually needs. The amount you will need will depend on the size of your home and the amount of electricity you use on average. Maybe you will need your first homemade solar panel and then just a few more or maybe many more after it. Either way, the investment is well worth it.
