If you're going to Yorkshire you'll need to take time to consider all the places that you might want to visit. If you do a little research beforehand you're less likely to miss something that you really want to see. One of the popular theme parks that you won't want to miss is the Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo, which is located in Malton. There are more than one-hundred attractions and rides to enjoy there, so there is something for everyone to see. The Zoo is the largest one in the UK that's privately owned and more than one million people come to see Flamingoland every year. There are holiday homes for hire there, so you can stay in the actual park if you want. Another great place to visit is Mother Shipton's Cave and Petrifying Well. This is in Knaresborough, and it's one of the oldest visitor attractions in the UK, dating all the way back to 1630. There are a lot of petrified items there, but that's not the only thing you can see. There are woodland walks, an adventure playground, boats for hire, the Mother Shipton Inn and a lot more. It's something that the entire family can enjoy. If you're a war buff, you'll want to see the Eden Camp in Malton. It's a museum that will give you a lot of insight into what Britain is really like during wartime. If candy's more your thing, go to the John Bull World of Rock. You can see how the candy is made, and you'll be given the opportunity to make some yourself and to go to the shop and stock up on the goodies that you love. Thirsk Races is a good place to go if you're a fan of the races, and it's a fun day out. Check the dates and times, though, because they vary throughout the year. One other place that you shouldn't miss is the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary. It's educational, but it's also fun, and there are things for the entire family to enjoy. Scarborough Castle is there for your viewing pleasure, as well.
