Golfers Paradise in Fife

Fife is unsurprisingly home to some of the best golf courses in all of the country; after all it is the home to St Andrews the birth place of Golf. As a result the area is becoming increasingly popular place to visit and live for golf enthusiasts. Some have even been known to rent property in Fife just to be nearer their favourite courses.

Here is a run down of some of our favourite courses in Fife.

Dunfermline Golf Club. Although the course is largely flat it still provides an excellent test for golfers. The club has recently undergone renovation work with in the 600 year old listed tower which provides such an impressive back drop to many of the holes.

Aberdour Golf Club. Located next to the river Forth this parkland course is always very popular with visitors. The course boasts some beautiful views across the river towards Edinburgh.

Burntisland Golf Club. Established in the 1700’s this is one of the oldest courses in Scotland which has helped create a character unlike any other course in Fife. From all areas of the course you can enjoy panoramic views thanks to the courses location on the costal fringes of Fife.

Forrester Park resort. Forrester is one of the newest golf courses in all of Scotland. With 350 acres of park land this 72 par course has been built to USGA specification and is quickly establishing itself as one of the finest courses in Scotland.

Pitreavie Golf Course. The course was opened in 1922 and was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie. It location offers fantastic views over the Firth of Forth while the parkland course is a test for golfers of all abilities.

Thornton Golf Club. This scenic course has its easily walked 18 holes bounded by the river Ore. It has a fine finishing five holes that will rival any course. It is also well renowned for the suburb conditions of its greens.

Balbirnie Park Golf Club. This beautiful wooded parkland course has many amazing panoramic views. Its easy to see why the Scottish PGA has chosen this course for professional tournaments as it will provide golfers with a true golfing test.
