When you take a trip to the peak district one of the things that you might enjoy doing is walking through some of the beautiful scenery. If you know where to go, you can get more for your money while you're there, so doing a little bit of research before you make your trip is usually pretty beneficial. One popular place for walking is the peak forest lead mines. It takes you through one of the major areas for lead mining in the peak district and takes in the borders of both the white and dark peak district. You can see for many miles if you get there on a clear day. It's almost a four and one-half mile distance and takes around three hours to complete, on average. It's a little bit of a climb, too, so that's something that you should be prepared for. If that's not for you, you might want to try walking in Deepdale, near Buxton. It's one of the treasured places of the peak district, but it's also one of the places that often gets ignored, because it's very tranquil. If that's what you're looking for, it's the perfect place to take a little three-hour stroll. The Edges above Baslow is another great place to take a walk, but plan around four hours for that one. It's six miles and a bit of a climb, but it's seen a lot of activity over the last one thousand years. That's only part of the allure, however, because there is some very striking natural scenery there, and it makes for a walk that's just incredible. Upper Dovedale and the High Peak Trail are also very popular with walkers, but it's not for the faint of heart. It's a ten mile, six hour walk and you can enjoy the beautiful limestone cliffs. No matter what you like in a walk and where you'd like to go on yours, the peak district definitely has something for everyone. You can get fit and make yourself healthier, and you can have great company and great scenery at the same time, which makes for a winning adventure for everyone.
