Simulation has been used as a training method since long. The simulated environments have been used since early 1900 to improve the learning process and making it easier. The flight simulator environments are not only created in the form of games but there are many professional devices available which are used for extensive pilot training. The training here is done in parts where one or two aircraft systems are replicated. The pilot must train themselves for operating these systems by repetitively following procedures before they move on to other systems and finally to the complete set up.

The complete flight sim replicates the whole airplane and makes the pilot feel as if he is in an actual airborne plane. Everything from the cockpit, equipments and other controls are duplicated. It is a 360 degrees environment where the plane can move in all directions. The pilot has to sit at the controls, and carry out all operations as he would if he was sitting in an actual plane. They will also be able to experience an airport setting or other scenarios as they would in a real life situation.

So why opt for a flight simulator game or environment when one can train the pilot in a real plane? These games allow the pilot to be trained without endangering his life or risking damage to the plane and that is why; they are so popular worldwide.
