Local Atlantic Christian High School graduate, Chris Masi, was chosen as a finalist in a national competition to produce an online commercial for an environmental consumer product known as “The Blade.” According to the manufacturer, Sabertec of Austin, Texas, the Blade is a timely device that is designed to save gas mileage, reduce pollution from automobiles, and help alleviate global warming. The company chose an innovative approach to marketing by motivating college film students to compete in creating commercials for their product.

Chris Masi’s work was chosen from among hundreds of entries from across the country, for which he received a $5,000 scholarship. Now as a finalist, with three other competitors, he has the opportunity to win another scholarship of $10,000.

The finalists were chosen by the manufacturer of the product, but the winner of the final competition will be selected based on online votes. After attending the Atlantic Christian High School , Chris chose to attend film school at BIOLA University in La Mirada , California . During his college career, Chris has been participating in internships which have enabled him to rub shoulders with TV writers, directors, producers and stars. During the summer of 2007, Chris was selected for one of the most prestigious internships in the entire TV / Film industry, with the renowned Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the organization that hosts the Emmy Awards. As part of his internship, Chris Masi was awarded membership into the Academy.

Masi began his video production career at the age of 15. He recalls starting with a video camera and a Mac computer that he bought with his personal savings when he was a sophomore at Atlantic Christian High School in Egg Harbor Township . Chris began making promotional videos for his school. His videos quickly captured that hearts of his classmates, teachers and the public in general.

Chris was instrumental in forming the Late Entertainment Group at BIOLA University , where Chris became the producer of LATE, a late night “clean comedy” show that is filmed on campus. The LATE show is aired on BIOLA TV as well as via the Internet. In addition to producing the show, Chris stars in some of the comedy mini-episodes featured on LATE.

Masi’s hard work and success is not limited to production. As a freshman he was chosen to participate in BIOLA University ’s Torrey Honors Program. Chris Masi graduated from the Atlantic Christian High School in 2002. His parents still reside in Egg Harbor Township .
