The selection of the right location to site the green house is very important if it is to last a lifetime. The ground should be level and flat and protected from winds. There should be little or no shade.

Compared to outdoor production, plants grown in an enclosed environment of the green house require careful attention to pests and diseases as these can rapidly spread. Heat and humidity is another factor that needs attention in a green house. Gauges to measure these can be installed. Irrigation is needed to provide water. Improved irrigation systems are available that can be automated.
