Even Girls Can Swing As Hard as the Dudes - All the Time!

By: Golfing Pro A A

If you were a runner, you would definitely practice before ever going out to compete against others. If you are a person who swims, you might swim miles and miles before racing another swimmer. But the same isn't true for most golfers. For golfers, practice does not take place. They may warm up before a round, but is all.
The best golf training is not done out on the fairways, and it is not always done on the driving range either. But, that isn't to say that there are not benefits made on the fairway and tees.
You can figure out your game, figure out your weaknesses and strengths, and view how you react under heat. On the range, you can work on developing your swing and figure out how far you can hit each club. Even on the putting green, you can work on your sense of touch and your ability to determine a line or read the green.
However, the best golf practice may happen in the local gym. This crazy game may seem like a leisurely sport sport, but it involves many parts of physical fitness. One's aerobic ability is important for the amount of walking that occurs over a few hours. The average playing course is almost three miles long, and a round of golf means a lot of mileage on the feet.
Strength is also very important because of the many, many times you will swing your irons and driver during one round. Even if you are shooting 80 or less, you are still swinging that club a lot of times in a day. You need a lot of strength to do that without wincing or deterioration of swing.
Golf training really should start in the gym. Improve your aerobic power and overall strength and you will see an incredible improvement in your rounds.
