Emo Scene has evolved from punk rock culture and has its own set of fashion rules as well as a completely different lifestyle. The emo Scene is characterized by the wearing of vibrant colored skinny jeans and body hugging tee shirts with pictures of emo bands on them. The people belonging to this subculture usually go out and out to show their roots and where they come from. They are very passionately involved with whatever they do, whether it be dressing a particular way or leading their life in the way they want to and the way their culture permits. These individuals are usually very inclined towards photography and are usually good at what they do. The most typical pose that we find is a profile showing one side of the face. The angles of photography are quite unusual and characteristic of the culture. There are many theories that have been put forward to explain the origin of this Scene. The first one is that emo subculture originated around a music style called Emocore or Emotional driven hardcore punk that was very famous in the early 80s in Washington D.C. More and more Bands in the United States and around the globe adapted to that music style and formed the lifestyle that is now known as Emo. The second one states that emo subculture is actually an extension of Goth culture. However this is not acceptable as there are vast fundamental differences between Goth and Emo cultures. The third theory puts forward that this was actually thought out and conceptualized by Dr. Kent of Stanford University while he was high on MDMA. The easiest way to recognize an emo is by his brilliant colored highlights and the typical emo hairstyle with side bangs covering one eye. Black studded belts, wrist bands and eyeliner are also pretty common features. Emos usually like to restrict themselves to dark quiet areas and put their thoughts into words by means of poetry and songs. Although greatly misunderstood these people are great to be with if you accept them the way they are and leave behind all your preconceived notions. Music is a very important part in the life of an emo-kid. Bands like My Chemical Romance, Panic at the Disco or Tokyo Hotel are very popular among emos and have sold many CDs. Especially girls use these idols to express and search for their identity.
