By: Karen V. Douglas

Trying to figure out how you can get rid of excessive underarm perspiration? It's normal to have some perspiration under the arms, especially when you are active or when it is warm. However, excessive underarm perspiration that occurs even under conditions that are normal is not natural and can definitely cause problems that can be quite humiliating.

If you have tried a number of products in an effort to eliminate your excessive underarm perspiration and have not had any luck doing so, your problem may not be ordinary. Everyone sweats when they are hot, anxious or exercising. But if you sweat heavily at other times as well, you may have the condition called hyperhidrosis.

With hyperhidrosis you'll find that usually this is not a serious medical problem. It is more embarrassing than anything else to deal with the excessive underarm perspiration. Often you may deal with constant sweating and may even end up getting large stains of sweat on your clothing. This can definitely be quite embarrassing to you.

There are treatments for excessive underarm perspiration so you do not need to despair. If you have not already checked into some, you will be happy to know you won't have to deal with the embarrassment and discomfort much longer.

Three of the most common treatments for excessive underarm perspiration are prescription strength antiperspirants, botox and surgical treatments. If you are considering any of these options you will want to learn as much about them as possible.

Many physicians will prescribe prescription strength antiperspirants for excessive underarm perspiration. That is most often their treatment of choice when over the counter antiperspirants do not work. The main ingredient in the prescription product is aluminum chloride.

Another treatment option for excessive underarm perspiration is botox. Botox is injected by the doctor into the underarm area. It is used to interrupt the sweating process at the glandular level. These treatments, however, do not always work.

Surgery is a drastic measure for treating problems with excessive underarm perspiration. Some people feel so desperate to get rid of the problem that they go with the surgery. There can be some side effects to the surgery though and it is quite expensive.

Instead of going with medical treatments for excessive underarm perspiration, you may want to consider more natural treatments. Many people who deal with this problem have found natural treatments to be more successful for them.

One natural way to deal with excessive underarm perspiration is to make sure you wear fabrics that breathe and keep the clothing loose. This lets the underarms get more air and keeps sweat stains from being quite as obvious if you get them.

Another place you can make changes is in your dietary habits. Excessive underarm perspiration can be exacerbated by eating hot and spicy foods or drinking alcoholic beverages and caffeinated drinks. It is always important to eat a healthy diet, but avoiding these foods will also make a difference in your perspiration problem. This is something everyone can do to cope with their problem.

Using natural treatments to cope with excessive underarm perspiration only makes sense. Chemicals and unnatural treatments may only compound the problem. Before you spend a fortune on surgery and other medical procedures and medications, try several natural remedies and see if they don't cure your problem. It will save you money, time and energy, in the long run.
