Of course, all that hype about content is king is true especially if we’re talking about marketing collaterals and strategy here. There’s no denying that what you have in your marketing campaign, whether it’s as small as business cards and invitation printing, or as long as brochures and print catalogs – your message is what generates leads to your business. Nevertheless, many marketers still make mistakes in their marketing content even when they know how important it is to the effectiveness of the ad. In fact, studies have shown that as many as 75% of marketers and business owners commit the errors time and again. Certainly you might argue that the errors are often minor and grammatical in nature, and that what counts is the total message you convey in your marketing materials. But the errors and mistakes seen by your target clients make a big difference when it comes to getting the image of quality and professionalism to your audience. Errors committed say one thing about you: that your company is not too keen on quality controls and doesn’t give much attention to details. This unfortunately gives a sour note to the audience. And it’s not just basic grammatical errors or misspelled words that get thumbs down from the readers. Content even in invitation printing that is full of jargon and highfaluting words bury what is really important in what you have to say. It shows how incompetent and poor in planning you are when it comes to marketing your business; maybe more so with your business dealings. You are clearly providing your target clients and prospect a wrong impression of who you are and what you do. Make no mistake about it – your clients and prospects look for clues in what they can read about you. If they want to find out anything about you and your business, they read what you have given them. The words you choose can make or break your business. Choosing your words carefully then is the way to go if you want to last longer in the business. Pay attention to your content as much as you do with your design, graphics, and play of colors. Of course, weak grammar can always be corrected and edited; but there’s really no excuse for poor planning. It’s all about how you prepare for your marketing effort that would make a huge difference to your target readers. The key is to ensure that you provide your target audience with not just great content, but one that they actually need and want. By planning what you would want to say to your target audience, you can very well provide them with the most effective content that they can focus on and very well convince them of the benefits to your offer.
