In order be profitable it is important that you establish a budget that sets funds aside for everything required to operate your business. This would include equipment, advertising, taxes, material, etc. And remember, you need to set money aside to pay yourself! Keep in mind that the beauty of a photography business the low cost of entry with today's low cost digital camera. But it is easy to run out of funds quick with all the accessories, lenses, lighting, software, etc., that you will want to purchase. A budget is critical to keeping these costs under control. So where can you turn to for help? I recommend that you look for help from other small business owners. Look for someone who is a good business person and not just a good photographer. They can provide you with the business knowledge you will need to go forward when things seem overwhelming. With so much to do, running your own business can be very difficult sometimes.
