Classic Christmas Movies Re-made

By: Christmas Fan

Another Christmas is upon us and another remake of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. Well I've seen all the other versions I might as well go and see this one. I love Christmas films, I love Miracle on 34th Street, I can't make my mind up which version I prefer but it certainly gets you into the Christmas Spirit.
However in my opinion the best Christmas film is "It's a Wonderful Life" and not even the master Spielberg would dare tamper with this legend.

When the script was first written nobody would touch it. Eventually it was made but it took years and flopped in the cinemas. However over the years the film never went away and today it is now ranked Number One of all time Greatest Christmas Films. I watched Jimmy Steward on a Chat Show and when asked what was his greatest role he announced George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life. When asked why he replied George was but an ordinary man, but like us all, his work touched so many people.

I have to admit, when I watch it I feel a lump in my throat and I always seem to get something in my eye. It's such a work of art I can watch it over and over again. Anyway one day whilst researching I entered the movie title into the google search engine and came across a surprise. The search engine returned "It's a Wonderful Life on 34th Street". What is this I thought, not even Spielberg would remake this classic. I went to the website and there was the Script being hawked around on the internet. I then thought nothing's changed, sixty years ago the script for It's a Wonderful Life was having the same problems. I read the script and just like the classic it made me want to cry and it filled me full of the Christmas Spirit. Briefly the Story was about a little girl writing to Santa not wanting a present but wanting Santa to bring her daddy home for Christmas. The end was fabulous, I not going to tell you the end and spoil it for you, but if this film is ever made there won't be a dry eye in the cinema.

Maybe if Spielberg does not have the nerve to remake It's a Wonderful Life but here is his opportunity to be rememberd as a Charles Dickens. Go to Google type in It's a Wonderful Life on 34th Street sit down by the Christmas tree with a nice mug of Coco and enjoy this new Christmas Classic. After reading this Story, if you do didn't believe in Santa Claus you will. The story is humorous and touching its pure fantasy but for some reason the Characters are so believable. I thought of Jimmy Stewart when I was reading it, maybe because the main character the little girl's father was called Jim. Was the writer of this classic a fan of It's a Wonderful Life, I think so and I'm pleased he was.- Merry Christmas
