Build Golf Muscles When You Aren't On the Golf Course

If you were a jogger, you might train before ever going out to compete against others. If you were a person who swims, you might swim miles and miles before competing another person in the pool. But the same is not true for most golfers. For golfers, practice can't always take place. Duffers may go hit a few balls before a round, but that's it.
The best practice for golf improvement is not done out on the course, and it isn't always done on the range either. But, that isn't to say that there are not benefits made on the golf course.
You can learn the course, figure out your strengths and weaknesses, and view how you perform under pressure. On the practice range, you can work on grooving your swing and determine how far you can hit each iron. Even on the putting green, you can work on your feel and your capability to determine a grain or read the grass.
Alas, the best golf practice may happen in the gym. This crazy game may seem like a leisurely sport sport, but it involves many parts of physical fitness. One's aerobic level is important because the amount of walking that occurs over a few hours. The average golf course is almost five miles long, and a round of golf means a lot of mileage on the feet.
Strength is also vital because of the numerous times you will swing the clubs during even one round. Even if you are hitting 80 or less, you are still swinging your club a lot of times in a day. You need a lot of power to do that without wincing or failing in the swing.
Good golf training really can start in the gym. Improve your aerobic ability and physical strength and you will see an almost immediate improvement in your game.
