Bath is with out question one of the most beautiful and unique cities in the UK. Bath boasts some of the greatest architecture in Europe which ranges from its well preserved Roman Baths to Georgian splendor and stunning modern buildings. It’s for these reasons that the city was granted world heritage status in 1987 and is the only city in Britain to have this title. One of the main attractions of the city has to be the Roman Baths. Built during the Roman occupation of Britain the baths have become world renowned as one of the greatest remaining Roman buildings. As well as the building itself the waters which feed the magnificent site have become famous too. The only hot spring in the UK the waters are said to hold all sorts of healing properties and have been drawing people to them for centuries. The Baths have been beautifully preserved and a tour is a must if you take a short break in Bath. As well as the many attractions of the city itself a walk through the surrounding country side should be high on your list. Bath is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Another must see attraction is The Royal Crescent, one of the greatest examples of Georgian architecture in the world. Number 1 The Royal Crescent is now home to a museum showing how the houses would have looked during the Georgian period, giving visitors a unique opportunity to go back in time. The crescent is also located near the Circus which is another stunning example of Georgian architecture. To see an even older example of Baths beautiful homes visit Sally Lun’s Refreshment House, built in 1483, it now incorporates a museum dedicated to the original building and has become popular throughout the city for the sales of the Sally Lun Bun. All of these attractions have helped make Bath a perfect destination for people of all ages and interests.
