Associate and Bachelor Degree Program Types

1. "Associate of Arts" degrees or A.A. are made to transfer to a 4-year university or college.
2. "Associate of Applied Science" degrees are short for A.A.S. and are designed to get ready graduates for their career entry and job advancement after two years of college education. AAS degrees can transfer in part or in whole to four year universities and colleges. A.A.S degree may be known by such occupational specific titles as Associate in Business, Associate in Engineering Technology, and others.
3. "Associate of Science" degrees or A.S. is created to transfer to a four year university or college.
4. Occupational degree is referred to as an "applied" degree program as well. These occupational degree programs at a 2-year college or university is made to prepare college students to step in the work force at once following their graduation. The main function is the career preparation, though some courses and programs can transfer to four year colleges and univesities.
