When most of us think of Easter, we think of having some well earned time to ourselves, and will most definitely also think about chocolate! But how about getting away from it all this year? Many people really struggle to make it through from New Year until the summer to get a holiday. So why not take advantage of the couple of extra days off and go somewhere you’ve never been before? The great thing about Easter is that you get that wonderful double length weekend to look forward to; but why waste it doing some DIY when you could be relaxing and getting away from it all? It won’t cost you as much as a whole week away, but you’ve still got enough time to properly relax and explore part of the UK – or perhaps even part of Europe. So how do you set about choosing where you want to go? Well firstly you need to think about whether you’ve got kids or not - if you have you’ll be better off choosing a more active break. Ideally it should be the type of getaway that kids of all ages would enjoy – including you, of course. What about a theme park for instance? Alton Towers is one of the best choices you could make here, and there are plenty of places where you can stay that are only a short drive from the park itself. If you don’t have kids to think about and you fancy a nice long weekend away with your partner, you could think about venturing a little further afield. Paris is a staple and long held favourite in this department, and it’s not too far to travel either. However it’s not the only option you have when it comes to visiting France for a few days - if you like the idea of walking along a different beach then you could give Nice a try. What's more, Nice benefits from its stunning location on the French Riviera, and it will transport you into a whole new world, if only for a few precious days. But if you’d prefer to stay in the UK, don’t overlook the many wonderful cities and locations there are to choose from here too. You could soak up the history in Bath, visit the University city of Oxford, or even rub shoulders with royalty in Windsor! Wherever you go you’re sure to have a wonderful and very restful break. Of course, it can prove beneficial to plan your Easter break as soon as possible. Once you have sorted upon your short break you can sit back and enjoy a well deserved break. And don’t worry, you’ll still find time to indulge in an Easter egg or two as well!
