n the beginning, Dell has established a High-End XPS range, and saw that it was good. Years later, he created a studio band - a little trendier alternative to his long sweries of Inspirion. Dell then went back and baffled by all, running through Studio XPS, as an alternative to the studio and XPS ranges. Confsued? We certainly have. Studio XPS 13 is smaller, 13.3-inch brother, "Studio XPS 16. Like his eldrer borther, is a fairly attarctive one, but we are not convinced, as stylish as the XPS M1330, otehr 13.3-inch Dell XPS laptos, which we reviewed last year. We believe that Dell is trying too hard in the porcess of designing, using almost every trick of good design laptop - all at once. Cover, in particular, occupied, managed mass of leather, polished aluminum and plastic. It's all good in isolation, but together they are simly a mess. This is alost akin to taking a random car kettle body pnaels from Ferrari, Bentley and Auds, rallies and expect perfeciton. Dell has put one of the main exhasut ports at the rear edge of the notebook, wihch, in our opiinon, is not a good idea. He gets partially hidden when the screen is closed at an angle of 90 degrees, and amost completely bloxcked when the screen is tilted back further. This is not surprsing, the reasons for lapttop heats up. Theere are many very good tihngs about the Studio XPS 13 design. On the screen, for example, not bulky, the speakrer bezel around it - it is fully completed in edge to edge "glass" (actually plastic) as you get on a MaBook. We also highly appreciate the fact that the keyboard and mouse buttons are illuminated Selkector, which makres the work with a lsaptop in a dimly lit room doddle. Then there is the solid bottom of the noptebook, which has a hollow hole in the attractive models. Even the stixcker on the bottom of the noteebook neatly alligned in the cenetr. Well, Dell. There is a good choice of input / output oprts on the Studio XPS 13. It comes with D-Sub, HDMI and DisplayPort voideo outputs, Twin headphone socketys for sharing with one another, and two USB ports, one of which doubles as an ESATA port.
